But how can we get the attention of every well meaning Nigerian to come to terms with this noble quest and reality so we can change the face of our nation? Firstly, I am worried that our nation has become the joke of all other nations. Such that It has become uninhabitable, the most dangerous place under the surface of the earth to travel for any kind of visits. Nigeria today seems like it’s on autopilot, and manned by a conscienceless chimera that’s driving us all into oblivion!
It seems like a nation under siege and a domain infested by an incurable corruption that has made it so volatile and so divided such that it will be very difficult to use any movements to compel our disgruntled bad leaders to be accountable and or to question any bad governance or even to ask crooked politicians I resign from office.
Unfortunately, our leaders have gotten so immune nowadays to protests of all kinds (that are aimed to restore the excesses of power and the misdeeds of governance) that it can never be used to achieve any positive change or to address any anomalies. How can we be sure that our dreams for a new Nigeria won’t be hijacked on the long run at any time by some money bag politicians who are poised to send opposing desperate youths with printed vests to protest against any agenda to use our freedom of expression rights to compel our leaders to be responsible and accountable?
In the past, movements with great minds to restore the nation has been either politicised and or mesmerised by some people (in most cases by government machinery) from the inside out and then rendered puerile and redundant like a toothless bulldog. Nigeria and Nigerians truly need some urgent help at this critical moment . Because, as great and dynamic as we are; we don’t really deserve what we are getting as a nation!
Did we actually offend anyone to merit the dis-services we are getting? If it’s the case, Who do we need to appease to get things better again? We need help for ourselves and leaders with rights minds and human conscience, and soft heart to unite us once again. We need a leader with his own self will and not puppets and mondo dizmos! As much as we long for better days ahead, but can’t save ourselves because we are crippled with motion without movements, like the earth rotating on its elliptical orbit!
Since it’s our collective responsibility to take our fate into our hands; How do we re-awaken the consciousness of our youths and every well meaning Nigerian to bring it clearly to our leaders and help them to understand that power belongs truly to the people and not to those we have elected to serve us and to protect our interests?
How do we tell them and their coons that it’s time up? that we aren’t joking no more. How do we say enough is just enough henceforth? And in what language do we say it most loudest? Maybe, We might need a #Nigeriaspring! Or #nigeriarising as a gambit to restore our hopes otherwise we will all perish. But when? This days, Nigerians are so scared but still want a change! How do we legitimately (using our freedom of expression) let the government and our leaders on a nationwide peaceful protest to hear these groans in our voices and the cries of the oppressed!
In 2012, Nigeria was put on hold with a massive strike action because of fuel subsidy. That was long ago! But When will this ever happen again? When can we let the government know we can still take a bold action if they don’t attend to our plights and predicaments. There’s so much divisions in the land, many don’t even care anymore due to fear or so long as they have few cash coming into their pockets for their selfish gains or because they are close to the seats of power.
Dear fellow Nigerians, it’s time to wake up and stop dreaming. God will not fall from heavens to save our nation, and no amount of prayers and fasting can change or push God to do what we can do for ourselves. We must rise today or never or blame ourselves, and then wait for the impending consequences. With height of retrogressive and declining proportion we are in.
I am certain that in the next five years or less, the gdp of our crime rates will skyrocket, our population will rise abysmally , early deaths will be in the increase without regulations due to depressions, heart attacks and other avoidable health challenges, diseases will be on the prowl and out of control, many nations will withdraw their support eventually due to lack of seriousness to meet up on our part since we have failed woefully in the Millennium development goals (MDG), businesses will close down, visas to other countries will be difficult, animals will take charge of human affairs, only politics will be the most thriving business of the day in the country.
And then, our People will resort to all desperate inhuman ways to survive and to make a living. If our youths don’t wake up now and rise and address these preventable phenomena and aberrations of ‘socio-economico-politico’ sanity we will all be doomed sooner or later! And may God help us! From the look of things there’s no hope in view unless we either change our ways in a hurry or address the seriousness of these vermin’s in our land. The leaders we have today cannot and will never change or restore the image of Nigeria. Because they don’t care! They are only making damage control.
We need a total recall of all privileges and a complete overhauling of the nations entire framework! It’s just a mirage’ to imagine that we can watch and get anything good to come from a bad and corrupt foundation!
Many of them (our leaders) are out every four years to run the country dry and to drown our commonwealth. And while in their old age and in their graves millions of unborn generations will suffer for their impunities. Let all good willed Nigerians and youths rise up and say no more to political slavery. We have to stop compromising our lives and feelings and Destiny!
I have lived on both ends and have seen it all about to happen if only we can listen and take heed to these warnings!
REVOLUTION IS INEVITABLY UNAVOIDABLE TO GET NIGERIA MOVING… By Anthony Ud.
God bless Nigeria.
“If our youths don’t wake up now and rise and address these preventable phenomena and aberrations of ‘socio-economico-politico’ sanity we will all be doomed sooner or later” irrespective of the tribe, colour represented, religious or political affiliation cause we are all in the mess with no exclusion!
“It’s just a mirage to imagine that we can watch and get anything good to come from a bad and corrupt foundation!” Think it high time we stop this “godfather-ism” cause he who plays the music has the power to dictate the tempo and dance pattern. The so called godfather dictate what should be done either it’s gonna affect the citizenry negatively at large is never “my headache”.
